For Orboot Core, PlayShifu's augmented reality globe and learning app, I recorded and prepared the Romanian audio content. My work covered voiceover, post production, file organization and quality control.

Client and industry

PlayShifu is a global EdTech company that creates augmented reality learning toys for children. Orboot combines an interactive globe with an app that helps young users discover the world.

The project

Our collaboration started in 2025 and continued with new projects the following year. For Orboot Core, PlayShifu sent me the English to Romanian translation. During the recording sessions, I adjusted lines that did not sound natural in performance. I delivered the project in July 2026.

The challenge

Orboot brings together facts about science, nature and geography, interface prompts and video content. Stories need enough space to hold a child's attention. Short instructions must make sense immediately. At the same time, every file had to match the key and location defined in the product structure.

My role

  • I recorded the native Romanian female voice for every module.
  • Where a translated line sounded rigid, I adjusted the wording at the microphone.
  • Next, I edited and cleaned each audio asset.
  • I processed and mastered the material according to the client's specifications.
  • After editing, I split the content and named every file using its corresponding key.
  • For QC, I created a bilingual HTML report with audio previews and module filters.
  • Finally, I organized the WAV files inside the product folders.

How I worked

For recording, I used a Rode NT1-A microphone and an Audient interface in a studio in Brasov. Working module by module helped me keep the performance consistent across longer educational stories and short app prompts. The interactive report let the client play every file in the browser and check any module quickly.

The result

PlayShifu received an audio package ready for product integration. The technical team could import the files directly, without splitting, renaming or moving them between folders. The QC report provided quick access to every recording and a clear overview of the complete delivery.

What comes next

My collaboration with PlayShifu now spans 4 projects. Tacto Doctor comes next, with a new Romanian localization for the company's range of interactive Tacto games.

Orboot needs a voice that sparks a child's curiosity and helps them follow the information easily. I enjoyed finding the right balance for each type of content.
